Police: Woman Fatally Shot By Boyfriend's Brother Near West-Side Home Depot

DETROIT (WWJ) — Police are investigating after a woman was killed and another man was injured during a shooting on the city's west side.

Authorities say the shooting took place at a home across from the Home Depot on Seven Mile Rd. and involved the woman's 33-year-old boyfriend and his brother.

Police say the 24-year-old suspect fired shots at the couple before the two men ran to the Home Depot parking lot, where the shooter was eventually arrested.

The 33-year-old man was injured in the shooting. His condition is currently unknown.

A source from the Detroit Police Department says that the suspect may have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the shooting.

The Home Depot was closed and is expected to reopen on Monday.

And investigation is still ongoing.
