Woman Convicted In Detroit Firebombing Gets Life In Prison

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) -- A woman convicted in the firebombing of a house on Detroit's east side that killed a man and a woman has been sentenced to life in prison.

The no-parole sentence was ordered Friday for Mariah Thomas, who was found guilty of felony murder, assault with intent to murder and arson in connection with the December attack.

The fire broke out in the early morning at a home on Hoyt and Manning, in a northeast neighborhood near State Fair and Gratiot Avenue.

The 24-year-old Detroit resident had been charged along with 28-year-old Jebrie Cross, who awaits trial.

The ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old James Jordan, died along with 20-year-old Jana John. A 22-year-old man was injured.

Authorities say it was an act of revenge following rejection.
