Woman Arraigned After Shooting Up Her Home With Baby On Hip [VIDEO]
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) A woman who drew attention after video surfaced of her screaming, pulling a gun and shooting at her own house -- with a baby on her hip and another child at her side -- was arraigned this week on two gun charges, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
Andrea Ariel-Jones Sheppard, 28, of Waterford, was arraigned in 36th District Court on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and reckless use of a firearm, officials said. She was released on a $10,000 personal bond.
"It is alleged that on Oct. 21, Sheppard fired a weapon into a home she purchased from the Detroit Land Bank located in the 16000 block of Greydale in Detroit while holding her infant daughter and in the presence of her eight-year-old son," officials said in a press release.
WARNING: The video includes vulgar language.
Sheppard is due back in 36th District Court on Nov. 8; Child Protective Services is reportedly involved in the case.
It's difficult to make out everything she shouts in the video, but apparently she purchased the house through the Detroit Land Bank and was dissatisfied with the condition.
In the video, she says, "Detroit is my home, this is where I'm from, I stay in Waterford now. I bought this house for these two children... I bought this house with my hard-earned, burger-flipping, chicken frying tax money and I am highly upset ... Somebody sold me a house that should have been on the f'ing demolished list."
Craig Fahle, a land bank spokesman, told the Detroit News the property wasn't taken from her or slated for demolition.
