Wolverines Pull Off Narrow Victory Over Ohio State ... In Rival Blood Drive

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - The Wolverines scored a big win over Ohio State this weekend ... in the arch rival blood drive that is.

After a heartbreaking double OT loss to the Buckeyes on the football field on Saturday -- attention turned to the battle of blood donations.

Charlemagne McHaffie is a member of Blood Drives United at the University of Michigan, he says the win was similar to the football game -- by a small margin.

"We had blood drives as usual and advertised around campus and in the community and managed to collect more blood than Ohio State this year," said Mchaffie. "Winning by just eight pints out of around 2,300."

McHaffie says that although he's disappointed his school didn't win the game, winning the blood challenge definitely has a bigger impact on people's lives.

Of the 35 years of battle, the Wolverines have won 20 times.
