Wig-Wearing Flagstar Bank Robber At Large

PONTIAC (WWJ) - A bank robber, caught close up on camera, eluded capture Monday morning in Pontiac.

Oakland County Sheriff's officials released a security image of the suspect — a black male, wearing a wig — in hopes a tip from the public will lead to an arrest in the case.

The robbery took place just before 9 a.m. at the Flagstar Bank located at 1648 North Perry.

Deputies say the suspect handed a bank teller a note demanding money, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was tracked by a Sheriff's department K-9 team a short distance away where authorities believe he got into a vehicle.

The suspect is described as about 30 years old; 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and around 150 lbs, with some facial hair. He was wearing what appears to be a dark-colored wig, black clothes, a black baseball-style hat, and dark sunglasses.

A reward is being offered for a tip leading to the arrest of the suspect, and callers can remain anonymous. Anyone who thinks they recognize the man in this photo or who has any information about this crime is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office at 248-858-4911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
