Chris Ilitch, a son of Red Wings owners Mike and Marian Ilitch, announced the name of the team's new arena Thursday. The name -- Little Caesars Arena -- didn't get much of a warm reception on the Internet.
Personally, I like the name of the arena, and I think everyone should refer to it as "The Ceese."
People on Twitter also tried to give it their own nicknames.
As the man who coined the nickname "The Copa" back in 2000, I'm here to give you the nickname of the new arena. "The L.C." You're welcome.

It's our job in the media to simplify the name of every new stadium. Comerica Park: The Copa. Suggestion for Little Caesars Arena? The Pie.

I'm not hearing much support for the "Pizza hut." That's odd. https://t.co/hhpfMonjQr

Little Caesars Arena doesn't have nosebleed seats, it has Upper Crust seating.

Funny the low-information yik-yaks can't fathom the Little Caesars Arena name. It's Mike Ilitch's company, it built his championship empire.
