Police Carry Out 5 Raids In Connection With Homicide, Carjacking

DETROIT (WWJ) - Multiple raids are being carried out in Detroit and Taylor Wednesday as part of a murder investigation.

Michigan State Police say five different search warrants -- four in Detroit and one in Taylor -- are being served in connection with an ongoing investigation of a homicide and carjacking that recently occurred in Detroit.

Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI and local law enforcement are all involved.

At a home on Allendale Street, off of I-96 near Tireman Avenue on Detroit's west side, four men were placed in handcuffs as agents went about searching for evidence. Reporting live from the scene, WWJ's Vickie Thomas said three men wearing white t-shirts were handcuffed, sitting on the front lawn; another man, also wearing a white t-shirt, was in handcuffs, standing by one of the patrol vehicles.

Police declined to release further details, citing the ongoing investigation.
