How much snow did this weekend's winter weather drop on Southeast Michigan?

Snow has piled up in Southeast Michigan as multiple rounds of flurries moved through the area on Saturday and Sunday.

The graphics below show how much snow some areas have seen from Sunday morning's storm, according to meteorologist Ahmad Bajjey.

Bajjey says the reason for the slightly lower-than-expected snow totals is due to the southern extension of Sunday's system that took moisture from the Gulf that was originally meant for Southeast Michigan. 

Saturday

Saturday morning's system brought around 2 inches of accumulation in most areas, according to the National Weather Service. 

On Saturday afternoon, around 2.5 inches of snow had fallen in Shelby Township, 1.9 inches of accumulation was being reported in Washington and Sterling Heights reported 1.4 inches, the agency said.

Further north, Columbus reported 3.3 inches of accumulation.
