Weekend Hockey Fundraisers Take Aim At Cancer

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two charity hockey events take place over the weekend --  for a good cause.

Hockey Fights Cancer, a citywide three-day hockey tournament will be May 13-15. Admission for each game is free. event will take place in multiple locations in the tri-county area, including: Hazel Park Vikings Ice Arena, Royal Oak John Lindell Ice Arena, Oak Park Ice Arena, Troy Sports Center, Onyx Rochester Ice Arena, Macomb Ice Arena and the Mt. Clemens Ice Arena.

The second event "Red Wings Alumni vs. UAW-Ford" Tournament is a charity game to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society. This game will take place on May 15, at 2 p.m. This tourney will take place at the Fraser Ice Arena and costs $10. Call 586-453-4232 for ticket information.
