Weather warnings issued in Southeast Michigan

Severe weather strikes Michigan Friday night

(CBS DETROIT) - The National Weather Service issued multiple weather warnings in Southeast Michigan Friday evening.

Tornado and thunderstorm warnings that were issued have since expired by 10:45 p.m. 

A flash flood warning was in effect until 11:45 p.m. in Flint, Burton and Swartz Creek. Additionally, a special weather statement was also in effect until 11:45 p.m. in Metro Detroit.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the left shoulder and the left and center lanes are blocked due to flooding on northbound Interstate 75 after US-24. The Left shoulder and left on the southbound freeway are also blocked after E. Holly Road.

In Shiawassee County, the city of Perry declared a state of emergency Friday night "due to a tornado strike." In a Facebook post, the city is urging residents to remain off the streets with downed power lines and weather conditions. 

Officials say no injuries have been reported and emergency personnel are on scene.
