Wayne State Ready To Kick Off Weekly Farmers Market

DETROIT (AP) — Wayne State University is getting ready to kick off its weekly Wednesday Farmers Market.

The market's ninth season opens this Wednesday and runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Oct. 26 in front of the Walter P. Reuther Library of Labor and Urban Affairs at the Detroit school.

Offerings include fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs, flowers, honey, baked goods and several hot and cold lunch options. The market features familiar Detroit-area growers, including Brother Nature Produce and D-Town Farm, as well as new vendors such as The Greening of Detroit and Detroit Peppers.

Food vendors include Avalon International Breads, Brooklyn Street Local, Russell Street Deli, Mystic Kettle and Sweet Potato Sensations.
