Wayne County Offering Ticket Amnesty Program

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wayne County officials are offering a county-wide ticket amnesty program which will remain in effect through Friday, May 2, 2014.

According to a press release from Nancy Blount, Chief Judge of 36th District Court, civil infractions in default status and/or misdemeanor tickets with judgments can be paid in person. Officials at 36th District Court will waive all late fees and warrant costs. However, all original assessments and mandatory state fees, including driver's license reinstatement fees, will not be waived.

Participating courts include Detroit, Allen Park/Melvindale, Dearborn, Garden City, Grosse Pointe Municipal, Hamtramck, Plymouth, Southgate, Taylor and Wayne.

Hours at 36th District Court will have extended hours throughout the ticket amnesty program: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6:30 pm and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
