'Warriors In Pink' Examines Conversation Surrounding Breast Cancer

DETROIT (WWJ) - Ford Motor Company is helping drive the conversation about breast cancer with some intriguing new research.

So what's the connection between cars and breast cancer?

It's more than you might think, thanks to new research commissioned by Ford says WWJ Health Reporter Sean Lee.

Its 'Warriors in Pink' campaign recently conducted a national survey of women and how they talk about breast health.

Experiential Marketing Manager Tracy Magee says the findings reveal a disconnect when it comes to breast cancer.

"Breast cancer is a top health concern; one of the top three but we found that three percent of daughters are waiting for their mothers to bring up the conversation and fifty-five percent of mothers are waiting for daughters to bring up the conversation," sid Magee.

This year marks Ford's 20th year of supporting breast cancer awareness and research, dedicating more than $125 million  to the cause.
