Wanted: Man Who Groped Women Outside Lifetime Fitness In Canton

CANTON (WWJ) - Canton police are looking for a man who groped two women outside a gym.

Police say one woman was grabbed in the parking lot of the Lifetime Fitness around 7 p.m. Monday. Another woman was groped in the same area about two hours later. Police say the women, who were approached from behind, were on their cell phones when they were assaulted.

Both of the alleged victims screamed and the suspect fled on foot through the parking lot. Neither was injured.

The man is described as around 5 feet, 8 inches tall with an average to stocky build. He was wearing black pants and a black hoodie with the hood pulled up.

The incidents remain under investigation.

Meantime, Canton police are reminding residents to exercise "proactive parking safety habits"which include parking in well-lit areas and walking in groups when possible. Always be aware of your surroundings, and keep your head up. While shopping, avoid carrying too many packages, and have your keys out and ready to unlock the door to your vehicle or home.
