'Very Dangerous' Man Wanted In Warren Woman's Beating Death

WARREN (WWJ) - Police are looking for a 34-year-old man in connection with the beating death of a 62-year-old woman in her apartment on Wednesday.

Mayor Jim Fouts says police want to locate and speak to Anthony Francis Iannotti, whom they're calling a person of interest in the murder of Donna Lawrence.

Fouts said Iannotti, an acquaintance of the victim, is believed to be the man who was seen knocking on Lawrence's windows the morning of her death, then driving off in her car.

Iannotti has a criminal history including convictions for assault with intent to do great harm, aggravated stalking and fleeing police.

Anyone who sees him should dial 911.

"He's very dangerous," Fouts said in an interview with WWJ's Sandra McNeill on Friday. "He committed an extremely violent crime. He's known to fly into fits of rages and that's when he can be dangerous."

Lawrence, a mother and grandmother, was found dead by family members, lying on the kitchen floor with a head wound, according to reports.

Her apartment, at Schoenherr and 13 Mile Road, was ransacked. Along with her vehicle, police said her purse was taken.

Investigators believe Iannotti may be driving Lawrence's blue Daewoo station wagon with Michigan license plate DAC5379.
