Ventilation Fire Causes Evacuation At Ford Romeo Engine Plant

ROMEO (WWJ) -- Firefighters in Romeo battled flames at the Ford Romeo Engine Plant on Friday afternoon which resulted in an evacuation of the facility's employees.

Firefighters from the Bruce-Romeo Fire Department arrived at around 1:30 p.m. and cleared the scene at around 5:30 p.m. Bruce-Romeo Fire Captain David Faulker explained what happened.

"We were called to the Ford Engine Plant for a fire that ended up being in the ventilation system," Faulker said. "We had people in the interior and on the roof."

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
