Van Smashes Into Marijuana Dispensary On Detroit's West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are trying to figure out if any drugs are missing after someone smashed a van into a medical marijuana dispensary on the city's west side.

The incident happened early Wednesday morning at Total Medz on Wyoming Avenue near Fenkell Avenue, just south of the Lodge Freeway. A burgundy and silver conversion van crashed through the front of the store and two men fled the scene in a second getaway vehicle.

Police say it appears the suspects intentionally crashed into the store, although it wasn't immediately clear if they made off with any merchandise.

Although the vehicle wasn't reported as stolen, officers on the scene told WWJ's Mike Campbell they believe the van was stolen from someone.

Investigators are now talking to witnesses and are trying to track down the suspects.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact police at 313-267-4600.
