UP Woman's Death Linked To Poison, Considered A Homicide

HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) - Police are considering the death of an Upper Peninsula woman as a homicide due to poison.

Houghton authorities say 31-year-old Janel Sturzl became ill last October and died in December from thallium poisoning. Thallium is odorless and tasteless.

Local police are being assisted by state police and the FBI. Sturzl worked at The Daily Mining Gazette in Houghton.

Anyone with tips can call Houghton police at (906) 487-5912.
