Police: Death Of Man At Former VFW Site Likely Accidental

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - An investigation is ongoing in Roseville after a man was found dead at the site of an old VFW hall.

According to police, the body was discovered by a passing motorist shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, at  25671 Gratiot Ave., near Frazho, between 10 and 11 Mile roads.

Police said the death appears to have been accidental. A preliminary investigation found that the victim — later identified as a 34-year-old homeless man — may have fallen and hit his head while trying to seek shelter in the cab of a bulldozer that was parked in the lot.

The Macomb County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

The man's name was not released pending notification of his family. Police said he is a former resident of Greenbush, in Alcona County, Michigan.
