Unemployed Graphic Designer Realizes NFL-Style Pistons Helmet, All 30 NBA Teams

Have you ever wondered what NBA players would look like if they wore football helmets? Well today is your lucky day, because an artist made it happen.

The story goes like this ... An unemployed soon to be employed graphic designer, James Politi, had some time on his hands and missed the NFL. His friends are big NBA fans and creative inspiration struck.

Politi describes himself as a designer aiming to "turn heads, and make impressions." He's certainly got the attention of the Internet as his design gallery under the premise, "If the NBA had helmets" has become a sensation with nearly a million views on Imgur and nearly 4000 upvotes on Reddit.

Politi set a few ground rules for the project.

Rule #1: No copy and pasting logos

Rule #2: No basketballs

The Detroit Pistons helmet takes the colors and mane element from the now abandoned horse logo. The flame-like mane wraps around the front with a winged feel similar to the Michigan Wolverines helmet.
