Uber Offering Rides For Downtown Detroit Events

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - With predictions of heavy traffic in downtown Detroit tonight, on-demand car service Uber is using social media to remind concert-goers and sports fans to leave the driving to them.

Uber Detroit offered itself as an alternative to driving downtown, and paying for parking, in its Tweets. Additionally, the service was giving away free rides to the show.

For those who driving to Comerica for the Eminem and Rihanna concert, or Ford Field for the Lions game, Woodward is closed between Campus Martius and Grand Circus Park.

Additionally, Olympia Development parking lots around Comerica opened at 3 p.m. Friday for the events.
