U-M Crime Alert: Police Seek Suspect In Library Attack

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - The University of Michigan has issued a crime alert in the wake of an attack at a library.

Campus police say it happened at 10:25 p.m Monday at the Shapiro Undergraduate Library, located at 919 S. University.

The suspect began yelling at the victim, police said, threw a stapler and then punched and kicked the victim several times before leaving the building.

The victim then went for medical help.  It was not immediately clear what prompted the attack.

Police are looking for a black male suspect in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 foot 9 inches tall, with thin build. He may have a mustache but wasn't wearing glasses. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a Detroit Tigers baseball cap and shirt, a dark hoodie and blue jeans.
