Two Victims Shot In Early Hours On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police said that a 29-year-old man is in custody after allegedly shooting two victims on the city's East Side.

Officers responded to shots fired near Harper and Outer Drive around 2 a.m. on Saturday. They discovered one victim lying in the middle of Whittier street.

A second victim -- walking in the neighborhood -- was also shot. The suspect was caught a few blocks away after officers observed him throwing a handgun under a parked car.

There is no word yet on the motive.
