1 arrested after 2 men found dead inside Shelby Township car shop

Two men found dead inside Metro Detroit car shop, investigation ongoing

An individual has been arrested in connection with the killing of two men who were found dead inside a Shelby Township, Michigan, auto shop, police said Saturday morning.

Officers responded to Star Auto Sales on the 47000 block of Ryan Road around 12:28 p.m. on Friday for a welfare check when they discovered the two men. Police have identified them as a 48-year-old Clinton Township, Michigan, resident and a 40-year-old Shelby Township resident.

The person arrested in the double homicide was taken into custody at a hotel near Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus on Saturday around 5:45 a.m. after police executed a search warrant. Investigators say evidence linked to the incident was found in a hotel room.

The Shelby Township Police Department is scheduled to hold a news conference regarding the double homicide on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
