Twins Separated At Birth, Reunited After "Crossing 8 Mile"

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit is bringing back a popular show, Crossing 8 Mile, that takes a look at the great divide between urban and suburban relations when twins separated at birth are reunited with a healthy dose of comedy by crossing Eight Mile Road.

Rick Sperling is Mosaic's president and founding artistic director and he tells WWJ that show addresses issues that can make some uncomfortable.

"It does skewer some of the stereotypes and the divisions in Metro Detroit, but it does it in this incredible, comedic, high energy way," Sperling said. "This is young people who are making a statement that many adults don't always want to hear."

Sperling says Crossing 8 Mile will be performed next weekend and the following weekend at the Detroit Film Theatre inside the DIA.
