Tuition Increase For 2 Michigan Universities Beginning Fall Semester

DETROIT (AP) - Two Michigan universities will raise tuition for the fall semester. Tuition and fees at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo are going up by 3.2 percent in the upcoming academic year.

The school says its board of trustees on Tuesday voted to approve the hike for 2014-15 and that it also meets a tuition restraint cap expected to be established by the state Legislature.

Beginning this fall, full-time in-state freshmen and sophomores can expect to pay about $330 more than the current academic year. Full-time out-of-state freshmen and sophomores will pay about $25,000.
