Trump's Detroit Speech To Be Moved To Cobo Center On Monday

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's speech -- which was originally scheduled to take place at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center on Monday -- will be moved to Cobo Center.

The Detroit Economic Club changed the venue because of a previously scheduled event at the Marriott.

Trump is expected to begin his speech around 12 p.m. on Monday, where he will focus on economic issues. Around 500 tickets have been sold for the event.

A group of local protesters is hoping to "build a wall" to keep Trump from delivering his speech. A post for an event by the Facebook group Cockroach Watch invites attendees to help "build a wall to 'wall off Trump.'"

Cockroach Watch bills itself as a citizen watchdog group and community activists with special emphasis on issues within the city of Detroit like city services, foreclosures, and police brutality.

Trump has been divisive in his rhetoric during his campaign, railing against immigrants, Muslims, veterans, and most recently crying babies in his audience.
