Trump Supporters Rally On Street Corners Across Metro Detroit

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Supporters of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump held a number of what was called "flash mob" events throughout Metro Detroit on Tuesday.

In Southfield, about 15 Trump supporters rallied at the corner of 12 Mile road and Telegraph.

One participant telling WWJ's Jon Hewett that Trump was his first choice but now supports him.

"He wasn't my first choice, but now he's the Republican nominee -- I think Hillary Clinton is just a horrible, horrible candidate -- that is for sale."

Throughout Metro Detroit hundreds of Trump supporters took part in gatherings holding signs and encouraging drivers to honk their horns in support.

A lively and spirited debate took place between a driver and road side mob-ster.

"What do you know?" shouted one driver,"that Donald Trump is going to make America great again? American has never been great my brother ... we have always been impoverished as African Americans in this country -- how is he going to prevent black crime from happening in Chicago, New York and Detroit? Where are his policies?"

In the end, Southfield police were called to the scene, and cooler heads prevailed -- eventually -- both sides of the aisle begrudgingly shook hands before leaving.
