Tried Meditation? Just 25 Minutes A Day May Relieve Stress

DETROIT (WWJ) - New research finds an almost instant way to short-circuit stress.

Pennsylvania researchers have found three consecutive days of 25 minute meditation sessions can have a dramatic effect on reducing stress.

For the study, 66 healthy volunteers —  ages 18 to 30 —  received either brief mindfulness meditation training, learning breathing exercises to help them pay attention to their present moment experiences, or, completed a matched three-day cognitive training program to enhance problem-solving skills.

Afterwards, all volunteers gave a stressful speech and completed math tasks in a stress-inducing environment.

The mindfulness meditation volunteers reported reduced stress perceptions, indicating the technique fostered psychological stress resilience.

If you want to try it yourself, there's a free website you can use right at your desk to reduce stress with guided meditation.
