Traffic Alert: Pothole Repair Shuts Down Lanes On I-75 In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities have shut down two lanes on northbound I-75 in southwest Detroit to repair a large pothole.

Crews have been working on the left two lanes of the freeway at Dearborn Street, just past the Rouge River Bridge, since Wednesday night.

Reporting from above the scene in Chopper 950, WWJ Traffic Reporter Lance Howard said he could see holes in the pavement.

It's not clear how long the lanes will remain closed, but backups are expected as the Thursday morning rush hour gets underway. Motorists are advised to take an alternate route.

For the latest from the roads, stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 during Traffic and Weather on the 8s, 24-hours a day. Check for recent incidents now on the CBS Detroit Traffic Page.
