Traffic Alert: I-94 In Detroit Closed This Weekend For Pavement Repair

DETROIT (WWJ) - If you were planning to take I-94 in Detroit this weekend, you might need a detour.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is closing westbound I-94 between I-75 and I-96 for pavement repair. Both the I-75 ramps and M-10 ramps to westbound I-94 will also be closed.

Crews have been working overnight for the past week, cutting existing pavement on the freeway. The weekend closure will safely allow crews to remove the pavement, pour new concrete and allow for curing time, according to MDOT.

The freeway is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, October 10.
