Toddler Found Wandering Alone In Detroit Reunited With Mom

DETROIT (WWJ) - A toddler who was found wandering alone on the city's east side has been reunited with his mother.

The boy, who police said is about 2 years old, was unharmed and is doing just fine — although he was cold and confused when officers picked him up on Beaconsfield and Grayton, west of I-94, after a concerned citizen spotted him walking in the street.

Police went door to door in the neighborhood but couldn't find the boys' parents.

Police say the boy, who is African-American, was wearing only a blue t-shirt with yellow writing and a diaper.

He was taken care of by police in the 9th Precinct, Friday afternoon, until his mother was located.

It was not immediately clear if the mother could face charges.
