Tips Sought To ID Man Who Robbed Pontiac Dry Cleaners At Gunpoint

PONTIAC (WWJ) - The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating and identifying a man who held up a Pontiac dry cleaners on Monday.

The man entered and left Magic Cleaners, on West Huron Street near Telegraph Road, shortly before 3 p.m. and asked about having an item cleaned. He left only to return a short time later with a shotgun, according to sheriff's officials.

The suspect ordered the employees to the floor and emptied the cash register before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, eastbound on Huron Street.

Authorities said he got away with several hundred dollars.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt.

The robber is described as a black man about 30 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He was wearing a black knit hat and black clothing.

A reward is being offered and tipsters may remain anonymous.
