Tim Allen To Serve As Grand Marshal For America's Thanksgiving Parade In Detroit

DETROIT (AP) - Actor Tim Allen will serve as grand marshal for this year's Thanksgiving Day parade in Detroit.

The Parade Co. announced Thursday that the Michigan native will appear at the 89th America's Thanksgiving Parade, which is presented by Art Van.

Allen is the star of the TV shows "Home Improvement" and "Last Man Standing" and films such as "The Santa Clause" and "Toy Story."

He's also been the voice of the state's "Pure Michigan" tourism campaign.

Organizers of the parade also said that Detroit Free Press editorial page editor Stephen Henderson will serve as honorary grand marshal.

This year's parade takes place Nov. 26. The theme is "So Happy Together."
