Tigers Call Up RHP Bobby Parnell From Triple A Toledo, Place Warwick Saupold On DL

The Detroit Tigers made a roster move Wednesday afternoon.
Reliever Warwick Saupold was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain. Tuesday night, Saupold pitched two innings, giving up three runs before leaving with the injury.

In a corresponding move, the Tigers have called up RHP Bobby Parnell from Triple A Toledo. To make room on the 40-man roster, they designated the contract of RHP Jose Valdez for assignment.

Parnell has pitched in 21 games for the Toledo Mud Hens. In those 21 games he has pitched 20.1 innings with a 3.98 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP.
