CBS DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers will recall on Thursday the contract of reliever Bruce Rondon from Triple-A Toledo, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.

In a corresponding move, the Tigers have optioned the contract of starting pitcher Buck Farmer to Toledo. Farmer started Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Indians and allowed five earned runs on eight hits over the course of 5 1/3 innings. In two starts for the Tigers this season, Farmer has an ERA of 10.45.

Rondon has yet to make an appearance for Detroit this season. He missed the first two months of the year with bicipital tendinitis and recently completed a rehab assignment. Even after the rehab stint ended, however, the Tigers kept Rondon in Toledo.

In 13 outings for the Mud Hens this season, Rondon has a 7.11 ERA over 12 2/3 innings. In his past five appearances, however, Rondon has not allowed an earned run.
