Tigers Bring Lobstein Off DL To Start Friday Vs Cleveland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Tigers have activated left-hander Kyle Lobstein from the 60-day disabled list to start the opener of a weekend series against the Cleveland Indians.

Detroit made the move before Thursday night's game in Kansas City.

Lobstein was 3-5 with a 4.34 ERA in eight starts before going on the DL in late May with a sore left shoulder. The 26-year-old made six rehab starts at Class A Lakeland and Triple-A Toledo, going 0-3 with a 5.68 ERA.

Alfredo Simon will start Saturday for Detroit. Justin Verlander takes the mound Sunday.

To create space on the 40-man roster for Lobstein, the Tigers out-righted right-hander Josh Zeid to Toledo.
