Think You've Got Talent? Over 100 Turn Out To Audition To Sing National Anthem

UTICA (WWJ) - Young and old -- more than 100 people turned out to audition to sing the National Anthem at the brand-new United Shore Baseball league, which will start up this season in Utica.

Forty talented singers will be picked in all -- as auditions took place at Partridge Creek on Thursday.

Allison Glencer, 15, told WWJ's Sandra McNeill she was nervous.

"I wish I could have remembered the words a little more but overall I think my pitch was good," said Glencer.

Singing has always been a passion of mine," said Glencer. "And it's a great thing to represent our country. It mixes two things that I love."

Ron Hirshberger Jr. is director of the Michigan Chamber Choral; "We're an a cappella group of 12 wonderful singers and we're just very excited to be here today ... so blessed to have this opportunity."

They'll sing opening day in Utica and dozens more are still being chosen for the musical honors.

The league will hold auditions for ball players next week.
