Think It's Cold Here? Imagine Living In The U.P.

DETROIT (WWJ) - Think it's cold here?

In Ironwood, in the Upper Peninsula, they're dealing with wind chills of more than 50 below zero. Nancy Lanctoe is busy baking at Joe's Pasty Shop this morning, where the temperature is 24 below zero, and the wind chill is -54!

"As long as I've been up here, I don't remember it being with the wind chill like that, within, I've have to say, 10 years," Lanctoe said.

Despite the mind-numbing cold, Lanctoe made it to work today, but she says she would have preferred to stay home.

"From the house to the vehicle, there's a little bite in the air and, you know, if you're out too long, I wouldn't be if I didn't have to," she said.

It's not clear yet if the icy temps will keep customers at home.
