'Test Strip' Robbery At Rite Aid Caught On Video

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a local drug store of one particular item; diabetic testing strips -- taking boxes of them.

The theft occurred at a Rite Aid store on Wyoming on Aug. 18, as the suspect simply climbed over the counter to take the items. When confronted, the man lifted his shirt revealing a handgun tucked in his waistband -- advising the clerk to "get back."

The suspect described as about 30-years-old, 5 feet, 9 inches and weighs 200 pounds.

He has a medium to dark brown complexion with a full beard.

He's seen on video wearing a black baseball style cap, black tee-shirt and pants and black sneakers with orange markings on the sides.
