Teen Fatally Shot After Family Tells Motorist To Slow Down

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A teenage girl has been shot to death after members of her family confronted a motorist who was speeding along a residential street on Detroit's northwest side.

Police say the family told the driver to slow down about 2 a.m. Sunday. He then pulled a handgun and fired shots before speeding away. The girl, identified in reports as a 15-year-old from Sterling Heights, later died at a hospital.

One of her relatives struck a pole and was injured while driving after the man who shot the teen.

No arrests have been made.
