Teen Driver Gives Disturbing Details In Beating Death Of MSU Student

CLINTON COUNTY (WWJ/AP) - A Saline High School senior, one of three teens accused in the February beating death of a Michigan State University student, pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter and unarmed robbery.

Nineteen-year-old Samantha Grigg testified in Clinton County Circuit Court that her friend, Brendan Heim, beat 19-year-old Dustyn Frolka with a pair of brass knuckles as they drove in an SUV along Interstate 69, outside of East Lansing.

"Brendan began to punch him in the back seat of the car and Dustyn opened the door and went out of the car, I stopped on the highway and at that point Tyrel and Brendan went outside the car - took his clothing and his money and came back to the car," said Grigg during testimony recorded by the Lansing State Journal.

Frolka was left on the roadway to die.

Grigg faces up to 15 years in prison.

Heim, 17, and 18-year-old Tyrel Bredernitz, a third teen charged in the case both face up to life in prison on felony murder charges.
