Take Part In The American Heart Association Heart Chase

DETROIT (WWJ) - There's a unique opportunity to race through the streets of Mount Clemens solving clues for a life-saving cause this weekend.

Think of it like a 5K fundraiser meets the Amazing Race.

The American Heart Association is hosting something called the Heart Chase — a community-wide race with wacky challenges, checkpoints and even the chance to learn how to save a life, while learning about good heart health in the process.

"Heart Chase players will have the opportunity to life-saving techniques like the hands-only CPR technique at one of the checkpoints," said Heart Chase Chair Bryan Cain. "Each checkpoint will offer another challenge focused around heart health, requiring teens to work together to complete those."

The Heart Chase kicks off at Oakland University in Mount Clemens at 9 a.m. this Saturday, April 5, with stops throughout the downtown area.
