Take A Ten Second Summer Vacation During The Polar Vortex

By @GeorgeJFox

It's been one of the worst winters I can remember. The last time I was overwhelmed by mother nature I was about five years old and up to my waist in snow. The winters have been seemingly light in recent years. Am I right? This is ridiculous. We need a break!

We can all use a ten second vacation. Let's try to go there in our minds.

I know it's difficult amid the brutal cold, hour-long commutes and mountains of snow, but I'll help. Read along and gaze into the photos.

Can you remember ... ?

When the sun was high, pleasantly warm and didn't blind you on your commute.

Dogs were playing in a pool. This should help. Are you coming around yet?

When the heat became too much -- it never felt better to splash in a sprinkler.

Hot sand on the beach or soft waves rocking you on the boat.

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr. Why ... ? Because kittens.

Ice cream after a long hot day of working or playing.

Fresh local fruits and vegetables ... oh how I've missed you.

Sitting outside and listening to Tigers baseball.

Hitting the links and sinking a 10 foot putt.

Playing pickup basketball at the park.

Okay, if none of this is working. Here's my last try.

Still not there with me? Oh well, shut your blinds, make some popcorn and binge watch "Hart of Dixie."
