Suspect Sought In Cigarette Thefts At Detroit Donuts

MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Madison Heights police are reaching out to the public to help catch the culprit in a pair of burglaries at a local convenience store.

In both incidents, which were captured on video, the suspect pounded through the laminate glass front door, and went directly to the counter area to fill a plastic shopping bag with cigarettes before fleeing.

Only Marlboro and Newport cigarettes were stolen; nothing else was taken or even examined by the burglar.

In this week's robbery, a suspect vehicle  — which appears to be a minivan — was also captured on security tape, entering the parking lot via eastbound 12 Mile Road.

The suspect is described as a white male of average height and build. He was wearing an over-sized dark blue nylon jacket over a gray hoodie,
and light, gloved, and baggy blue jeans. A black mask/hat completely covered his face.

Anyone who may have information about this crime is asked to call Madison Heights Police Detective Shawn Scofield at 248-837-2733.
