Suspect Sought In Armed Robbery At Detroit Chicken And Fish Joint
DETROIT (WWJ) - The suspect fired a shot and stated "I'm not playing," police say.
Detroit investigators are hoping a tipster can help them to identify and locate a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery earlier this month.
The crime took place at around 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9. at "Captain J's Chicken and Fish" located at 12248 E. Warren.
According to police, a man walked into the busy restaurant, gun in hand, and demanded that the customers in the lobby lay on the floor and empty their pockets of valuables.
After he fired a single shot into the floor, police say, customers in the restaurant complied with the suspect's demand. He collected the victims' belongings — including their chicken dinners — in a bag and fled the scene.
"They took their money, food, whatever they had. They took everything," one employee told WJBK-TV.
The incident was captured on the business' 16 security cameras; the suspect not bothering to conceal his face.
No one was hurt.
The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, around 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 165 lbs. He was wearing a red hat with black bill, a gray long-sleeve shirt and black pants and was armed with blue steel semi-automatic handgun.
