Suspect Opens Fire In Northwest Detroit Neighborhood, 2 Injured

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for a gunman who shot at a group of people who were walking down a street on the west side, injuring two men.

Police say the shooting happened just before 6 a.m. Friday on Trinity Street near St. Martins Avenue, in a neighborhood just north of 7 Mile Road between Lahser and Evergreen roads.

According to police, three people where walking down the street when a car pulled up and someone inside started shooting. An 18-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 25-year-old man was shot in the back. The third person was uninjured.

Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment and are expected to recover.

Police are now searching for the gunman. Sgt. Michael Woody said police don't have a description of the suspect or the vehicle because the victims are refusing to cooperate with investigators.
