Suspect In Texas Double Homicide Arrested In Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A man being sought by authorities in a double homicide in Texas has been arrested in Lansing.

The Lansing State Journal reports that the U.S. Marshals Service says in a news release that 28-year-old Raymond Alvarado Jr. was arrested by the Lansing Area Fugitive Task Force on Thursday after leaving a Lansing residence. Federal officials say Alvarado was taken into custody without incident by authorities who went to the residence after receiving a tip that he was in the area.

Officials say Alvarado is charged with capital murder in connection with the September 12 shooting deaths of two men in San Angelo, Texas.

The paper reports that Alvarado is expected to appear in court in Ingham County on Friday.
