Suspect Charged After Telling Deputies Where To Find Body

GLADWIN, Mich. (AP) - A sheriff says the body of a man missing for more than a month has been found based on information from a suspect in the investigation.

Chad Ballard was arraigned Wednesday on a murder charge in Gladwin County. He's charged in the death of Daniel Dombrowski, an Oakland County man who was working in Gladwin County. He was last seen on Oct. 6.

Dombrowski's body was found in a wooded area in Beaverton Township, about 130 miles northwest of Detroit.

Gladwin County Sheriff Michael Shea says Ballard knew the victim and gave important information to investigators this week while in jail in an unrelated case.

Sheriff's deputies and state police conducted many searches over weeks before Ballard helped with the location. He's being held without bond.
