Suspect At Large In Shooting Of Pregnant Woman In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 25-year-old pregnant woman is hospitalized after she was shot multiple times home on the Detroit's west side.

Police said an unknown man fired at least four shots toward the woman's house, on Rockdale near Parkland, at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Three bullet casings were found at the scene.

The woman, who was standing in her living room at the time of the shooting, was taken to a local hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.

However, according to police, the baby's life isn't in danger.

Police are not talking about whether the woman was intentionally targeted or about a possible motive at this time.

The suspect is described only as thin man, around 6 feet, 3 inches tall, wearing a dark-colored hoodie. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call police.

Police said the baby is due in about two months.
